Description & Uses: Fraction 0–40 mm is a dense-graded mix of fines and mid-size gravel (sometimes called “crusher run”). It contains everything from stone dust up to 40 mm particles, which allows it to compact into a very solid, low-voids layer. This makes 0–40 mm material highly versatile for base and foundation work. Typical applications include:

Road base and subbase: Used as the main material for road foundations and subbase layers. It forms a stable foundation for highways, streets, driveways, and even airfield pavements. The mix of sizes locks together to bear heavy loads.
Foundation pads: Serves as a bedding layer under asphalt pavement and concrete slabs, ensuring even load distribution and good drainage for building foundations.
Unpaved surfaces: Suitable for gravel roads, country lanes, and shoulders – it compacts into a firm driving surface that resists rutting.
Backfill and leveling: Excellent for backfilling trenches or utility lines (pipes, cables) because it compacts tightly around structures. Also used to level and stabilize construction sites before building.
