0-5 mm screenings are the finest crushed-stone fraction — essentially a stone dust by-product of rock crushing. Despite the small grain size, the material retains the high strength of the parent diabase rock (M1400) and compacts into a tight, stable matrix, making it valuable as a fine component in concrete and asphalt mixes.
Typical applications: fine aggregate in asphalt and concrete mixes, improving density and stability; manufacturing of concrete blocks, paving slabs and curbstones, thanks to fine grading and good compaction; bedding under patio pavers and tiles; backfilling and bedding for utility trenches and pipes; landscaping and exposed-aggregate finishes; anti-skid grit for icy surfaces in winter.
