Frequently asked questions

How do I convert tonnes of crushed stone to cubic metres?

Volume (m³) = mass (t) ÷ bulk density (t/m³). Pick a fraction in the calculator — density is filled in automatically.

How many wagons do I need for my volume?

The calculator divides tonnage by 69 t (one HKC wagon) and rounds up. E.g. 500 t → 8 wagons.

Which density is used in the calculation?

Bulk density of HKC diabase by fraction — from 1.38 t/m³ (40-70 mm) to 1.65 t/m³ (mix 0-80). Values are indicative; exact batch density is in the quality passport.
